SHARKSKIN ULTRA SA® is a “state of the art” high temp rated peel and stick roof underlayment developed in 2006. Available in both 48" and 8" widths. By combining the heavy Sharkskin Ultra® substrate with an aggressive adhesive coating technology, Kirsch Research and Development created an “All Weather Barrier” that is easier to install in both cold and hot temperatures. Engineered as ‘secondary water barrier” to protect residential property and commercial buildings from water leaks due to high wind events such as hurricanes, tornadoes and hail.

SHARKSKIN ULTRA SA® is patented. The self-adhered synthetic roof underlayment protects against winter ice dam conditions. When installed under metal, tile, slate and asphalt shingle roof systems it acts as an ‘Ice Barrier'. This product is Green and supports LEEDS, contains no asphalt or VOC’s.

SHARKSKIN ULTRA SA® severe weather underlayment can be installed over a many different substrates in freezing weather. As well as the following:

Excellent product!
Very sticky, no need to worry about delamination. I'm not one for being on a roof, so the nonslip surface was just what the doctor ordered.

BEST product for WIP Bar None!

This product has no true equal. With its ease of use and application and its extreme performance nothing works on this level. I have used this product exclusively for the past 10 years
Out here in Northern California I have seen how well this product holds up even in wild fire conditions.

I do test and tryout other WIP products to stay current, but as of this writing I have not found anything close to SHARKSKIN ULTRA SA.

strong durable underlayment

looked at video of shakskin ultra sa and had 2 men pulling on 2 pieces that were stuck together didn't think the adhesive would be that strong, so I put a strip approx 3 inches wide and a foot long over a scaffold board with about 1/2 hanging over the edge and attached another piece about the same size had the adhesive side on one attached to the printed side of the other with approx 5 inch overlap and could hang from the end of the second piece, I am only 160 lbs but I have done this several times and it still holds together. We had over 2 inches of rain with 20+ mph wind gust yesterday and no leaks and still looks the same as then I installed it 2 days prior to the rain. Ordered underlayment on sunday afternoon and had it delivered to house on wednesday at 5:30.
